• Against grass clippings and sawdust yes. For anything more exciting I've got proper ones :)

  • It's not the grass you have to worry about, it's whatever foreign object hiding in the grass is accelerated to the peripheral speed of the mower blade

  • Does anyone have any experience of the Ican Aero 40 wheels? Seems to be in stock in UK warehouse, seem decent but want to know if i will be able to stop (not hard carbon wheels before so a bit worried about the breaking deal) and if they will crumble as soon as I look at them!

    https://icanwheels.com/products/aero-40

    Thanks :-)

  • Sorry haven't been following, is this for a group order for wheels? Like the a set of deep track wheelset?

Can't remember what I was supposed to do... Was it email litecycle?

  • Just been out on this AliExpress Canyon post knockoff. I think it was about 30usd. It was very good. Nice and solid, didn’t bob about when pedalling and definitely smoothed the edge off the road surface. It’s destined for my road fixed rather than this bike but that’s wrapped in cotton wool for now. Graphics will have to go.

  • No idea what they are like or anything about the shop but £100 3t 58mm carbon clincher rims posted on the bargain thread.. probably of interest to anyone looking at LB, farsport, unbranded eBay specials, etc. https://www.lfgss.com/comments/15691214/

  • That Te-mani brand seem fairly decent tbh. I’ve got a carbon saddle from them that I’ve had for four years or so that’s had a fair beating and is still going strong. I’d buy another in a heartbeat if could find another.

  • Are there black 11-46T 11 speed Shimano cassettes out there? Beside Sunrace? Asking because having a black 11-52T 12 speed Ztto cassette but haven‘t found anything so far what isn’t so heavy like a Sunrace.

  • Mine arrived today. Look good

  • i want a winter bike. it must have

    • thru axle
    • disc
    • space + mounts for full mudguards (max 32c tyres)
    • somewhat roadie-ish geo. not looking for some touring bike or loose-angled gravel bike
    • don't care about material but should be light-ish

i guess i would kind of be looking at gravel bike frames... but not necessarily? i dont want a gravel bike and won't be using it for that sort of strange stuff

would also listen to suggestions outside of the "orient" but seems like stock/availability of good deals on branded stuff is limited

  • guy in my club has one of these and is basically perfect. not about to drop £2k on one though

  • Contact Waltly and get a custom one built...

  • What about that Carbonda @amey was riding?

    This one: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/347476/

  • yes that is certainly an option... i think @JB suggested this to me too. who has one of those on here? would be good to look at build pics/ask about process

  • Both @pjhobs and I have one. My build thread has a fair amount of detail in but happy to answer any questions etc.

  • awesome - just what i wanted to see. thank you!

  • realise I have already commented on your build thread haha. great bike

  • @swedeee so you are planning to have studded tyres on this thing?

  • haha no. despite my avatar and username, i live in Guildford...

  • Bowman weald, CAAD13, trek domane.

  • In case relevant, I'm going to sell on Amey's Carbonda frame, having transferred over all the parts to a new frame. Just need to get round to listing it here.

  • Anyone up for a light bicycle group buy in the New Year?

    Starting a list...
    @motoko - 2x 650b disc brake rims 28H

  • caads dont have mounts but will look into the other two

  • Caad13 does
