I don't think traditional bends are disfunctional with modern brifters perse. I'll go as far as saying the aethethics of a flat transition are of more importance than the perceived ergnomic aspects for many.
For my own builds the choice between compact or traditional is all about ridability, where I want the hoods to be with aesthetics being secondary to that.
The point of these MGOFs is that they are fully functional modern road machines, so I think shallow bars are acceptable. All decisions should be made for ridability. Whenever I see one with classic bars, I think that’s for the look, which is not what MGOF is about IMO.
