Fitted new Hope ‘road’ floating rotors. The original, used, 2004 Hope rotors that I got with the brakes were much better after truing but for some reason still didn’t feel as good as my crippling, life-destroying OCD would allow. These new ones feel perfect after bedding-in, and are ~30g lighter for the pair.
Also swapped the 410mm seatpost for a 330mm one (the old one’s getting used for another build), for a ~80g weight saving including the rotors.
Managed to strip the threads on one of the cute vintage 3DV skewers; they may match the 3DV ano on the rest of the bike but are evidently made of compacted horse hair.
Replaced with a Halo skewer and nut off a Hope, which has a serrated steel collar so as to bite into the braked-side dropout and negate any chance of the axle shifting under hard braking. This setup happily takes 9Nm torque.
