Owning your own home

Ordered a fridge freezer. First appliance and therefore first sign of the money haemorrhage that is the new house (barring the purchase costs).

Been packing for what feels like years and still not 50% of the way through. The "way too many" boxes I bought are nearly all used. Fuck this noise.

On an unrelated note, our movers charged £250 to pack up everything for us and it was worth every penny.

I floated the idea but it didn't make it past the internal auditors. At least we have 2 Luton vans and 4 people to do the actual moving

We paid £500 for packing and it was money well spent. Because they have so much in the way of boxes and packing material everything was packed way better than if we'd done it ourselves. Only thing I had to do was fridge/freezer and unplug the many, many wires for hi-fi, PC, etc.

Yeah, we bubble wrapped up my ming vase collection and moved that ourselves but tbh they were better at wrapping + packing than we were.

We did explore getting them to partial pack stuff but didn’t go with it in hindsight probably an error but this whole process is stuffed with so many errors it would just get lost in the noise
