    Worked on a (major) royal visit once, can confirm it’s a shit ton of work, nearly as much as a visit by a head of state.

    But I will say that it takes an impressive calibre of people skills to do what the best of them do. Imagine having 400 stakeholders show up to a work function just see and speak with you, then spending >3 hours in the evening going through the crowd trying to give adequate face time to as many people as possible, all while remaining charming, polished and ‘majestic’. The senior royal I was with did that, without a single faux pax or social misstep, and still appeared energetic at the end.
