  • Turns out the lead pipe is borked. Leaking in a couple places but the plumbers have patched it up for now.

It'll all need completely replacing before long but hopefully that's a job I can do next year.

Owning a 150+ year old house is fun isn't it?

  • £much?
I was blessed/cursed with lead in my first place. Couldn't get the Water Company to replace the feed, but got an oldschool plumber to joint in copper and I took it from there.

  • Could you joint in your new pipe to the pipe just prior to the outside stop tap?

  • As I've got plenty of room under the board's I'll be putting a duct in and leaving enough to run under the front path and kitchen floor once I pull that up. It'll mean all a plumber has to do is connect into the utilities up front and the same at the back (the stop cock) I would imagine under a grand.
