Hague Blue is nice. Damn nice. But it shows all the marks, so maybe not in a hallway.
It's the perfect colour to complement a Balzac chair in Utah Russet as well.

F+B Hague Blue is forum approved. Triple thread scene points if twinned with tactical Aesop / Berber rug combo.

What about the film that's translucent and powered so it'll have the same effect? Not sure how pricey it is.

Congratulations! That door is a lovely colour!

speaking of window film, has anyone put frosted film over a frosted window? current bathroom has hideous frosting pattern that I'd like to obscure, but it's not quite a new windows £s problem right now.

Nah, subway tiles make sense, they are part of The underground we’ve all used at some point in our lives. Almost iconic.
I’ve never been on a plantation in my life nor have a connection to any.

I went on a plantation tour in South Carolina. It was one of the plantations that grew rice, and at the time South Carolina was the global financial centre of the world.
They showed us around the plantation and to the kitchen out the back which was separate from the house, due to fire. There was a long winding path from the kitchen to the house. They told us that the slave boys would have to walk the food from the kitchen to the house and to ensure they didn’t eat any of the slavers food they would whistle the entire way. Hence the term, whistle while you work.
It was all fuckin awful. I’m not against the shutters though.

Replace the sealed unit only. My bathroom window was £150 fitted for two units.

they're based on the Ancient Greek marble design. so call them Ancient Greek Shutters... but they owned slaves too...

Again, they're not called that though, are they? Whatever I call them, they'll still be widely known as "plantation", explicitly named after the exact type of plantation that was just described above. For that reason, I'm out. I've not said to boycott shutter suppliers, I've not told anyone here they shouldn't have them.

On my run just now I saw a van which was pulled up at a funny angle and chucking stuff into a skip - I asked if they were allowed and they basically told me to fuck off. So I knocked on the house's door to let them know someone was filling up their skip and whether they knew about it. Turns out they didn't. I made a quick exit.

I'm with you. I can't deal with the name. I also don't like the things anyway, I don't think they suit the climate or the architecture but I know plenty of people do.
But also - when did they become 'plantation shutters'? Maybe I'm behind the times but I don't think I heard it until about 2 years ago. Before that I would've just called them louvred shutters or slatted shutters. So that just makes the trend for them, and calling them plantation shutters, worse for me. -

sorry carry on with your skip chat
Those shutters are this year’s subway tiles - avoid
