  • How much does it cost a (small single shop) retail outlet to take card payments? The item in question for sale retails at £25.

  • We use iZettle for Tri club swim fees etc, and Paypal and Stripe (charity rates) for website stuff

    iZettle charge 1.75%
    Stripe charge 1.2% + 20p
    Paypal I think are similar, maybe 1.4% +20p

    We're a charity though. Before then I think Paypal was about 2.9% +20p

    So it costs us up to 55p for a £25 transaction
    it used to cost us about 93p
