I love how people are arguing over the practicalities of arguably one of the more useful varieties of bike on the same forum you'd see a brakless lo-pro with Spinergys and a dildo bar praised.
Keep it up LFGSS

brakless lo-pro with Spinergys and a dildo bar
sounds like roof rack fodder to me

For bikepacking you replace the car axis with the plane axis.

Can people afford a Shoreditch flat AND a car nowadays? Shit, times have changed!

The only thing that justifies having a gravel bike over a hardtail is that is still a decent road bike. Remove that and you just have a shit MTB.
It's been more fun recently riding off road on the CX/gravel bike recently as any single track it can't handle is just bogs at the moment anyway. It's just made riding off road a bit more interesting for the meantime whilst things dry out or I'm gonna ride somewhere with good drainage

This thread is gagging for a graphic showing Gravèl’s Overton Window over time and projected to 2022, at which point I’m presuming the scene fragments back into touring/CX/MTB.

The data scientists and influencers on the Big Gravel payroll would definitely have an easier job

counterpoint; I'd argue that the co-ordinates on graph need to be more niche; in theory ANY gravel bike could sit in the middle. And thats not what we want, that will justify gravel bikes.

Has this thread swung to being anti gravel bikes?

This raises an interesting point - is my hardtail with rim brakes but semi-slick gravel-esque tyres actually a gravel bike sent from the future to kill Sarah wait I think I got distracted a bit...
@BareNecessities aka "bitchy" just like this thread.
