all the plug holes... and toilets. unless that's what you're doing in the shower...
-
• #39929
friends of mine completed on a house on that street 2 months ago. that one does seem quite low; wonder if the neighbours are problematic?

I think you may be doing showers wrong if you need a macerator.

Fridge in the toilet is quite novel.

Cheers.
In my lotto house I'd have some sort of super macerator built into all the plug holes.
Or maybe just my own bathroom. You have kids, so surely you have a poo knife right?
-
• #39935
Never heard of a poo knife.
That reddit waffle stomp has to be the BF pulling their leg.
The trail of hair in our place is relentless. I remember when mini-H1 was ~5mo having what I thought was one of my OH's hairs stuck to their shitty arse while I was changing them. I sighed and complained to myself about how it got everywhere. As I pulled it away, it tautened. I pulled a bit more only to realise it lead into their arsehole and had been swallowed.

On the 'should I rent a spare room?' chat -
If you can, yes you absolutely should, if you can trust yourself not to let it to a troublemaker.
When I did it - for about five years - there was a tax break (and there still is) that meant the income didn't need to be declared. The boost this made to my money situation over the period of time was quite something.
Also if a lodger goes wrong you change the locks and chuck their stuff out the window...
^ don't do this. But you can do this.

Jeez. We looked at shutters but ended up going with Venetian blinds with a thick tape. Bay window was about £250

Shutters are the living room equivalent of a #40kkitchen, obvs.
-
• #39939
Our previous fitted shutters. They are quite nice, except they limit what you can put in the window bays due to the way they fold.

I reckon the January sales would be worth waiting for.

• #39941
Thats mental

• #39942
A bloody fortune they seem to be, a friends getting them fitted rn and he's paid 15K lol
-
• #39944
^ don't do this. But you can do this.
And so can they.
-
• #39945
Can this be unlearned? The knowledge of it is a burden to me.
-
• #39946
Yes - except one would be in their rights to do so (moral questions aside) and the other wouldn’t and would be susceptible to police action.
(The point being that lodgers rights are lightweight - the flimsy AST contracts tenants have are heavy duty in comparison)

Reviving the plantation shutter chat - the place we are shortly moving into has them but I have never seen the attraction. Don’t they just ensure that your room is slightly dark all the time? Also, I am not that keen on the plantation connection... luckily my GF refers to them as plantain shutters which is preferable.

Bathroom shenanigans.
I liked those Original Style bathroom tiles but you can't buy the things online, you have to go get a quote from one of their retailers before you find out how much they are. Well, let me tell you.IT'S A FUCKIN' LOT

Minute porcelain is named its ching ching ching all round.
I think you may be doing showers wrong if you need a macerator.
But I'm not one to judge.
