I cut it off just next to where the strut attaches, then filed it to shape and sanded it smooth. After that, just reversed it and drilled some small holes, so I could cable tie it to the rack
Why reverse it?
Reckon it looks better unreversed. Or does reversing it have a function?

It doesn't really fit the other way, as the curve of the guard comes very close to rubbing on the tyre
