  • Burnley needs to get out of tier 3 to get fans in the ground.

  • I was watching the live stream. Couldn’t believe it.

It’s embarrassing for Millwall and for football as a whole. All the hard work to try and educate people while there was a good opportunity to do so and some morons go and prove that racism is still alive and kicking in the terraces before it’s even kicked off.

Definitely fired up our players though and Colin Kazim-Richards in particular (who is surprisingly becoming a fan favourite very quickly).

  • I’m sure that the Millwall incident will now mean that authorities will be keeping an eye on the small amount of fans allowed into the stadiums now and they will hopefully look to punish anyone guilty of such behaviour.

The Millwall match sounded like most of the 2,000 fans joined in to be honest, but perhaps that’s because I’m so used to watching quiet matches at empty venues now.

  • I was at Surrey quays. Closest I've been to match for aaaaages.

  • The thing is racism is everywhere in the UK. It just becomes more visible at stuff like football.

  • Will the club get sanctioned? Sorry that sounds a bit aimed at you, was more of a general question.

  • You would hope so. There needs to be a harsh precedent set. Millwall also need to do their utmost to find the fans who booed and set the tone by banning them or something too.

  • The fans responsible are claiming it’s not because they’re racist but because they don’t like BLM the organisation. Which would be far more plausible if they didn’t have such a long history of being terrible racist arseholes.

  • .

  • the big 5 resume their traditional positions

  • The Millwall (and west ham?) booing of the knee is disappointing but predictable. All of the explanations (anti marxist, the knee is a futile gesture, ALM) are excuses for racism. There has been plenty of education around this whole issue for 6 months now. It's a choice that fragile so called patriots make.
Alas we live in a free country so punishing people for booing the knee is not only tactically wrong and counter productive but just plain wrong.

  • Great performance from us, especially as Dirty Leeds were so good... Exciting times... Timo still missing the target but when they start going in again we'll be laughing...

Some of those West Yorkshire hairstyles tho'? 😬

  • Alas we live in a free country so punishing people for booing the knee is not only tactically wrong and counter productive but just plain wrong.

If you believe it’s racism how can punishing racism be plain wrong? I suspect the FA will bottle it more so given the fragile state of football finances at present.

  • It's as if Millwall fans don't care that no-one likes them.

(All clubs have racist fans, it's just some clubs they're far more vocal/visible than others. And some clubs do a lot lot more to clamp down on racist behaviour/chanting/etc.)

  • Another week, another game changing and shit VAR decision. Ace.

  • I am already resigned to the prospect that Spurs can and will beat Arsenal this afternoon with or without Kane.. it’s gonna be hard viewing.

  • fantastic welcome back to the anfield faithful

winaldum had his usual quality game and is there a better player than mane in the premiership at the minute, he's just so wily, strong and skillful, what a handful both of those two are

these views represent my own findings from the game and not submitted to the athletic, may contain cliches

  • oh and the move that built up to the 4th goal must have had 50 passes, visited every corner of the pitch, was touched by every liverpool player, a magnificent team goal ( well apart from the actual goal bit )

  • I may have had more fully formed opinions about the match had Amazon Prime not spent the entire first half crapping out, buffering and generally crashing like a wanker. Impressively shit quality.

  • +1 (would rep)...

Free country...have to laugh. Doing nothing about racism has gone on way too fucking long.

insert quote by any activist about how doing nothing is just plain wrong

  • Spuds absolutely losing their fucking minds because they're top is giving me the lolz today... Insta stories going POP!!! 😂😂😂

  • Is the DVD out yet?

  • I’m not a Spurs fan by any stretch of the imagination but I quite fancy them this season. At the least, they’ll end up seeing behind Liverpool.

Aside from the obvious, Dier has been a revelation at centre half. Aurier now looks quite solid. Not sure how Hojbjerg was only £15m.

There’s still time for Mourinho to lose his shit and turn the whole thing toxic but he seems to have learned to sideline players rather than playing them and then slagging them off to the media after the game.

(Despite my avi, I’m not an Arsenal fan either, before anyone starts that.)

  • Not sure how Hojbjerg was only £15m.

As a saints fan, he only had a year left on his contract, and was being a bit of a twat in the dressing room apparently, shame as he was club captain.
