There was a discussion a few pages back in cutting laminated chipboard with chipping the laminate. Conclusion was it's very difficult without power tools and specialist blades. I would imagine ply to be the same.
Ah I thought that may be the case!
I would assume that regular (non laminated) is far easier to cut and finish.
So in that case I'd want to seal it and paint the top of the shelves?
