  • Probably borked - Sram don't do many spare parts for the shifter mechanism. That red bit looks broken (as you say). That's the bit that holds the gear cable in place

    should look like this

    That notched bit (02) should rotate when you move the paddle full in, and there should be a flappy bit (03) that catches and hold the gear in place. When you move the paddle half in (downshift) that flappy bit should lift and drop down one notch. Which part of that doesn't happen any more?

  • When you push shifter, number 2, red bit moves round, cable and casing isn’t visible and the whole things remains shifted round. No other mechanism works. Does that make sense?

  • Did you get this sorted? I have the same issue but not sure if it is the same thing causing it, was going to try and take it apart this weekend.

  • yeah, makes sense. but still looks like the red bit has broken. Kind of looks like it's rotating too far

    try putting a cable in there, pulling on it so it has some tension then spraying the whole thing with lots of WD40 and pulling on the cable while downshifting.
