I'm looking at exactly same thing. Well, currently weighing up options. I need a practical but fun second car around the $15k budget (in Aussie dollars) and the 130i with n52 engine is top of list.
A mk VI hold GTi is possibly a safer bet but I am drawn to rwd, manual, straight 6...
Left field is a mk V golf R32 for the noise...
