    Fine if you have the money, but check out the Caddy/Berlingo/Kangoo etc., especially in the LWB versions they give up little to a train spotter and are cheaper to buy and run.

  • They seem like not quite as much of a space upgrade from my verso (possibly caddy maxi, though. Will investigate further). Basically I need something that can house kids in back, dog in boot (in cage) plus still potentially have room for a fuck off great tent and 2 adults + 2 kids levels of camping crap. But also I only want the one car so it needs to be vaguely practical. I guess most people go Transporter as they’re one of the least hideous of this sort of thing?

    @grams it needs to be fairly reliable and comfortable. Maybe around 5 years old max? Still in hypothetical stages, but budget somewhere around 10-15k max

    Apparently they're more "car like" than some of the alternatives, but I haven't driven one to know.

    How often are you going camping? It might make more sense to stick with a small car and hire a big MPV only when you need it.
