Had this on tape until it got nicked at a house party. This would have been hot property back in those days.

This one looks good too.
I love a bit of Mampi Swift -

Same, although I often find it hard to drop Mampi tracks into mixes as they often have very loud mid range that needs balancing out.
This is my next target for vinyl acquisition: https://youtu.be/qLoTGZQ73mk

I discovered a good tip to share if people are using Technics. When mixing a 33rpm record that is running slow, instead of pushing the record or turning the spindle, you can push the 33rpm button down and tap the 45rpm button and it has the same effect but is less noticeable/jarring. Can’t believe I only just read that. I guess it’s pretty limited, as you can’t do anything if you’re playing 45rpm which most dnb jungle 12s are, and you can’t slow down a 45rpm by tapping 33rpm, but I’ve still used it a bit.

That mix is going to be up in December along with one other, which is yet to be recorded, but it will effectively be The Stepper vol 2, electric BASSaloo. Trying to figure out if I absolutely need this (of course I do). I don’t think I’d play any of the other tracks on the whole 5x12” LP, though.

Can’t fully get my head around this. It just brings it to a whole other level. Think it is 3 decks and traktor. Must be a lot of prep work that goes into it - cue points and grouping tracks - but even still, it melts my brain even thinking of trying to pull off a coherent set like this. Phew.
Plenty of newer stuff, but it’s not before long that something recognisable appears and is smartly layered in.

Got that on the Combustion EP already 😁

Splurt?

Yep. That’s my point - I’d be buying it solely for Splurt. Which ain’t such a bad thing. I think it’s worth it.

Ah yes. Sorry don't mind me! It's been a long day

Wondering if this (and the recent release on Deep Jungle) came from that box of Dats that Dillinja posted a pic of at the start of lockdown 🤔

Love this tune. There’s a little bit of a happy hardcore vibe, but I find that easy enough to overlook, especially given the breakdown from 1:30 😍

Sad to hear that Leon Chue from Music House passed away today. Was only in his 40s 😔

I wonder if he cut this.

Here’s a really interesting video of him talking about his engineering career through the jungle prime times.

Just had a little mess about with my new toy before starting work.
I’ve been getting my head around how it all works properly since the weekend and am able to string enough together to try the record function. Low effort mixing here as I’m still getting the hang of the practicalities of the mixer over thinking about the composition/transitions, but all I have on there is proper jungle right now so thought I’d share the experiment.

Was really easy. Hit record and it saves a wav on the removable storage. Shoved that into PC and can upload straight to hearthis. When I record any proper mixes, I think I’ll convert them to 320mp3 first in Audacity, as this half hour file is 500mb. I’ll delete this next week, but enjoy the taste of the digital jungle flavours as there will be a proper meal of it coming before Christmas.
Recording another vinyl mix tomorrow which is a follow up to the steppy mix I did, and the other vinyl mix that’s waiting to go live will be up any day now.

That looks a fun but if kit. Can you use Spotify like the mini one you had. Will check tbe mix 👍👍

It’s brilliant. It’s basically the same deal as the smaller one but takes it to another level entirely. Not evidenced by that mix, but feel that I’ll soon be able to bring my sets up a notch with it in lots of different ways.
On top of that, it’s just an enormous time and space saver. You can so quickly flick through your tracks and swipe them into a folder that’s then your box to mix your set from. Once I’ve managed to rip and sort everything, I’ll be able to spend a lot less time to get a mix together than with vinyl. Can see myself recording mixes much more often with it, but then still planning vinyl sets over longer timeframes.
It doesn’t have Spotify - neither does the other one now, as Spotify revoked access to any third parties. Feeling is that they have their own DJ offering in the works, but that remains to be seen.
It does have Tidal, though, which I’m using on a free trial. Seems to have plenty enough in the library, and is apparently better quality. It also has integrations with Soundcloud and Beatport and Beatsource is coming soon - I’ll check them both out. The only thing is, you can’t record your sets on the device if you’re streaming. I can just run it through my amp/Audacity, but it’s limiting as I need to then record it in that room and rely on the strength of the wifi in there. I’ve been enjoying jacking the Denon up to the speakers under my TV like in the pic, or some long trusted Logitec PC speakers I have. Like the smaller one, it doesn’t work well with bluetooth speakers. I don’t know why, as it’s using a wired connection, but both Bluetooth speakers I have there is a lag between the headphones and the master audio signal, making beatmatching basically impossible.
I quite want to get a set of these for the hell of it, but that would be completely unnecessary.

Hahaha. Yeah, it’s hard to keep track of it all.
One thing that passed me by is that DJ Demo has repressed the Essence EP. Grabbed that in an instant. Few left still.
