• No idea, but it’s not light with the hydro brakes, steel rack and big steel bars!

  • Awesome build.

  • Damn, didn’t see this. I just ordered some 520’s from Planet X

Treated myself to some bullmoose bars too.

  • £20 is a bargain for a complete front & rear set, the arms are identical to 720s and you’ll inevitably change the pads for something better anyway.

You won’t regret the bullmoose, heavy but so comfy.

  • New page, new pap.

  • Yeah that was my thinking!

Re the bullmoose are yours the Nitto ones? Or one of the 2 Planet X copies?

It was pointed out that the Nitto Version is only like £2 More than the Planet X with the current discount so seemed silly to not go with those!

The rest of the bike will weigh a tonne anyway and I figure it’ll be nice and stiff for front loading!

  • I have the Nitto RB901RX from Planet X, bargain right now with the 30% off.

  • First day ‘commuting’ fully-loaded to an actual, real-life job in 6 months.

25-mile round trip with 10Kg on the front, nice & comfy.

  • Ace! Looking forward to seeing it with the p2s and hopefully without the canti cable hanger ;)

  • Peak functional machine! And yeah, when you find some spare time to do so, lose the hanger.

  • This thing’s getting a new frame, fork & some needlessly bling bits.

Frame is NOS 1991 Stumpjumper in a mad matte powder pearl blue.

It’s never been built before, so needs oversprayed threads chasing, BB & HT facing, and reamed/milled to take a normal ISO headset instead of a JIS.

  • god that is lush

  • Thanks! Was surprised how cheap the frame turned out to be all things considering.

Had to accept that the British Eagle was just a tad too small for me, and the tyre clearance not as big as I'd like...

  • WHAT?! Where has NOS from 1991...?! Not that I'm looking, just intrigued

  • I'm as perplexed as you are. Was spammed to me by Ebay, I put a lowball bid on and ended up winning lol.

  • Holy shit, is that a stock colour?

    Followin' dis

  • Yep, factory fresh. Looks mental IRL, hints of purple/gold in sunlight.

  • Wow, basically a holy grail haha!

  • Was the colour for the 91 Stumpjumper Comp model.

  • I was watching this frame with interest! Looking forward to seeing it built.

  • niiiice!
    sub me up!

  • I was watching that bike, way too big for me but so nice. Thought watch as this goes for loads. Great buy. And those cranks!!!

  • I saw this one on market aswell. Good catch, love the builds so far!

  • Literally no idea what I’m looking at here because I don’t know my MTBs from shit, but everything looks cool and everyone’s getting excited so I’m in 😎

  • Thanks for the encouragement!

Frame should be getting gently massaged into ISO-compliance this week, rear wheel re-spaced to 135mm, then a quick parts-swap build.
