• Yep and I'm sure the 3861 will be flown at some point if it retains the certification. It's a significantly better movement (assuming it achieves the same reliability & shock resistance).

They'll all use the X-33 in most situations because it tracks mission elapsed time and other important stuff but the Speedie is the one that gets used for EVA because quartz watches can't deal with the temperature drop.

  • Annoying that they’re only using an applied Omega logo on the sapphire crystal version, would’ve been a nice touch on both releases.

I think the slimmer bracelet is a good move and harks back to some of the earlier ones, I’ve tried just about every leather combo on mine and still return to the bracelet, just feels complete. Saying that I’m still on an eternal 20mm strap buying mission cause you never know, the next one might change my mind :)

  • It says "diamond polished", I wonder if it's got that "compact disc rainbow stripe" effect that a lot of their newer stuff has. Would look really wrong on a Moonwatch IMO.

Quite nice to see that the new one is actually slightly thinner than the old one despite the coaxial escapement.

  • I've just clocked that as well as the applied logo difference on the 2021 moonwatches, the shoulders of the bracelet centre links are polished on the sapphire version and brushed on the hesalite one.
