Price of the old one won't drop . May even rise as it's the one people want , and it's seen as more authentic . We have only two left , and then that's it.

I was going to say this....
Look at the prices of Rolex as an example. NOS prices jump up when the new line comes out.

I read somewhere that it will be re-certified by nasa for mars in 2024 and will have improved water resistance- I hope this is true.

My last two won't be here long , have an appointment for one tomorrow.
People are expecting the to hold value at the very least. -

Your last 2 what?

I'm indifferent to most of the changes (bar the price hike!), but much prefer the 1861's bracelet.
I'd buy it now. And if you like the new one more, sell it and buy the new one and and with the difference, buy a porsche.

The logos… why did they make them so much bigger… Seems like they always have to mess one thing up.
Not sure I can see a difference in the logo size.

Rolex (and patek) are not good examples for the rest. People even buy that hideous air king with the 5s because its price will go up eventually.

Why would the price increase? The changes are barely noticeable and it’s not like the current form went to the moon

Why would the price increase?
Because it can I guess

Just got an email from Harrods saying a spot came up to buy the Tudor BB . Fair play to them I asked to go on the list about 6 months ago. Lucky there’s no way I can get to London with Covid or I’d be tempted.

Apart from the lume slightly departing I think your dial looks great. Lovely thick lugs too, leave it be!

I’ve seen people selling their places in the queue, £2850 RRP innit?
-

As Howard said, mostly because they can, but they have been using the co-axial escapement as a reason to hike prices for years. Looks like it will have their master chronometer certification and there's also definitely a higher cost in achieving that. Applied logo (maybe only on the sapphire sandwich?). Maybe a few other things.

The Steinhart love is starting to make sense… j/k
Look at the two dials next to each other. The Omega symbol is sliiiightly smaller and the word PROFESSIONAL is about the same size but the OMEGA and "Speedmaster" text in particular are quite a lot* bigger on the new one.

I do like that they divided the second track into thirds to match up with the actual beat rate (which they've done on other models already).

Every time I see a Speedmaster it reinforces my conviction that they should be on a strap rather than a bracelet.
Reckon this new model will mean anything exciting for my Tintin’s value?
-
• #49746
It certainly wont hurt it.
And I wear mine on a strap as well . -
• #49747
I meant why would the current model increase in price when the new one comes out
-
• #49748
2840 from the email I received from Harrods. Seems a bit scummy selling a place in a queue when they’ve been pretty fair
-
• #49749
Oh, sorry.
Two reasons, 1, that always happens because for some reason changes in the current retail price of Rolex and Omega always seem to have an immediate effect on the secondary market. 2, due to the movement change the old one is likely to be seen as more authentic and original, hence more desirable.

why would the current model increase in price
Because watches
