Seems amazing the driver would steal it, DHL should be able to trace him immediately.
I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped it off back at the depot in a way that would make it get lost, to cover up for lying about the earlier delivery etc.
Either way, shitty situation, hope you get your money back soon.
I agree, he probably deliberately didn't scan it back in, but it's sat in a corner whilst he hopes the the situation will just go away and he won't have to explain that he lied about delivering it on the 25th.
I was trapped in a situation that just kept going round in circles - I call DHL customer service, they call the depot, depot manager tells them the parcel was delivered, customer service tell me that, I say "no, what happened was", customer service say "right, I've escalated to management" and absolutely nothing happens.
This was what happened every day since Wednesday the 25th, so today I reported it stolen to break out of this ridiculous cycle that was going nowhere.

Yeah I agree that the DHL guy has probably left the parcel at the depot knowing it will just become 'lost'
Absolute nightmare. I hope you getting a crime number gives DHL a kick up the arse to sort it.
It certainly highlights how ridiculous it is that during covid all courier companies rely the drivers simply photographing a package at someones door to prove they delivered it. Nothing stopping them simply taking it after they photograph has been taken. Easy to claim someone else must have stolen it. Cunts.
