  • Being taught in analogy. Poor analogy at that. Sitting in zoom classes and everyone is going spare because our tutor can’t actually explain what we’re learning, instead just constantly saying:
    “Think of X as Y, and A as B” etc. There comes a point when a literal description is just way more useful, and in fact fundamental to understanding. I’m never going to understand how things interact if you can’t teach us actual definitions.

    This is a bit abstract, but fuck me I'm an adult, I’m happy to be introduced to new concepts and accept that I just need to learn them.

    I wouldn’t mind if it helped other people but it seems like everyone in the class only understands once I push the tutor to describe things literally.

    In short, fuck zoom classes.
