  • On that note u can understand why the SUV is so successful here.

It's the thing I miss about the Range Rover. Speedbumps went unnoticed and shitty country roads were smoothed out with the air suspension.

Tesla is arriving mid next week and, although the seats soak up a lot of poor roads, it will be a much bumpier ride.

  • Ah ok understandable. Just Thought u meant perhaps that the 997 was not a good car

  • Airlift, for someone who isn't going to be going on track, a decent air setup handles well enough.

  • They are good cars, although they also mark the point that Porsche retreated from pushing design forward and did retro-pastiche. Sold well mind.

  • Came across a few of these at BMW, ironically they came in for electrical faults under warranty and communication bus faults with the instrument cluster, as soon as I pulled the cluster to check the wiring I found the small modules fitted, they basically take the speed/distance input signal and manipulate it to a lower reading.

Disconnected it to fix the car and they rang him to say his warranty was now void on certain items and in one of the cases the lease company took the vehicle back :D

Mileage is often stored in a few different control units these days and can throw up manipulation faults as that speed signal is used in so many things engine/gearbox management etc

  • E63 (550 bhp) is £650/year, so a £200/year increase over the C55 (380 bhp).

All being well I should collect this on Saturday.

  • Nice. When are you getting the dog that goes with that dog guard?

  • When I can convince my girlfriend that she likes dogs.

  • Fancy wing mirrors! Looks top spec.
Will you get something to protect the interior from bikes?

  • All being well I should collect this on Saturday.

Nice. Time I got the RS6 remapped to maintain the bhp-delta.

  • Looks so much better with non black wheels.

  • agreed

  • Will you get something to protect the interior from bikes?

    A roof rack

  • Nice. Time I got the RS6 remapped to maintain the bhp-delta.

I think I'll get the OEM reversing camera fitted (which will update the build sheet that Merc hold to show it as factory fit) and call it a day on the mods, and continue modifying the fuck out of the 911.

  • Sweet - nice stealthy silver too.

  • Absolutely. They really stick out.

  • Not even the diff?

  • Looks really good. From the pics there's minimal wear on the contact points and yeah, the silver colour with those wheels looks great.

  • Not even the diff?

I didn't do a great deal of dorifuto in the C55 so I suspect I shall not need it, but it's a (relatively) cheap thing to do if having almost 200 more horsepower changes my perspective.

  • I'll have a pair of Thule Wingbar Edge going spare - the C-class used the Small&Medium ones, and the E-class needs the Medium&Large. If you have a C-class sized estate it might be your lucky day.

  • yes please!

  • I think I'll get the OEM reversing camera fitted

I've got the reversing camera on the RS6. Trouble is, I only clean the car once a year, at most. So generally the reversing camera suggests I'm rolling backwards into the side of the sperm whale. Or a bank of dense fog. In reality, it's just that the camera is covered in a thick layer of road grime.

  • I keep my car pretty clean - anything to try to make the fuel economy a bit less awful.

  • Whereas I try to avoid thinking about the extra aerodynamic drag caused by the spiders' webs on the wing mirrors. And the moss in the window seals.
