All those hybrids that could fit decent sized tyres, had proper guard mounts, front and rear rack mounts and weren’t just road bikes with 28c gatorskins, flat bars and a shit groupset?
Most hybrids had mounts for (rear) rack and mudguards already. Now you can buy fat-tyred ones too: Kona Dew, Cannondale Treadwell, Marin Muirwoods, Whyte Portobello...
I was just poking fun at the owner of the flat bar bar suspension equipped gravel bike. I am aware that those are now all options that I would happily recommend if someone wanted a standard hybrid, but in the past (when the straggler was around) they certainly weren't. I could of course be wrong.
