It's winter, arguing about gear is the main event with brief intermissions where people mention that they tried to go on a ride but lost a shoe, a friend, and their will to live in several inches of peanut butter mud.

Yet we keep coming back for more..

I often lose 'friends' in the mud on my bike rides

I'm not a mountain bike rider. Plus don't need space for a bar bag to carry my food on 40km rides.

changing from 40cm to 44cm was probably the best thing I did go my gravel bike.
That’s because you haven’t tried a 46cm.

You have a gravel bike?

I'm with you. I ride 38cm on road so 40cm just fine.
It's current incarceration will be winter bike so expect 75% road, 25% off road.

• #14471
I was too. Sorry Josh, I've let us both down

Correct no. of bikes= N+1
Correct off road drop bar width= R+2cm (where R = road bike bar width)
Can't argue with maths.
Dont think anyone other than scoble really went down that hole; but he is a #buyer
