I struggle to be too upset by the can I have / can I get variations because it’s all completely intelligible, it’s just language changing. Infer / imply bothers me because the meanings are distinct and I don’t really understand why they are confused.
Came here, because I was just reminded that I LOATHE bub / bubs/ bubba / little one/ mama / mumma and every other cutesy alternative. I get diminutives when you’re talking to a baby - but why when you’re talking about them? Or to an adult parent? Mystifying.
