That is shocking, there is no honest reason to use that. WAC

What an absolutely cunty thing. Pisses me off so much.

That was my reaction, it's very clearly dishonest and seeks to defraud either the leasing company and/or a future owner.
-
• #60205
It's completely selfish and fraudulent.
"Saves me a few bob and fuck the next person that has this car".
Full cunt behaviour.

If the speedo and ABS etc still work it should be trivial for the computers to detect something like that. Unless the manufacturers don’t care.
(Which they should because they’re often the leasing company)
-
• #60207
It says it’s legal. I would have my doubts about that. It is likely legal to own and use but if you sell the car purporting to have done x miles and it’s done y miles - that is Fraud.

Not sure I follow.
If the car is doing a n extra 2-7k pa it'll only become apparent after 5yrs or more, by which time it'll have been through a couple of leases and sold by the manufacturer.
Can't see how they'd gaf.

• #60209
I wonder if they can increase mileage. I've been on the look out for a way to correct my motorbike odometer.
-
• #60210
Can't you just ride it until it reaches the correct mileage?
-
• #60211
That really made me chuckle.
-
• #60212
As much as I'd like to, I can't ride it 17k miles before the next MOT :)

• #60213
Have you never watched Ferris Bueller’s Day Off?

best car ever

So choice. If you have the means...

that mileage blocker is full shitbag
"*This device is designed only for off-road use and dyno testing and not for fraudulent purposes i.e use on the public road"
yeah everyone is taking their mercs and audis off road

NCD moved back from this Friday to coming Wednesday (9th).
Ordered the car in mid September so I guess a couple more days won't hurt but it's fucking annoying.
-
• #60218
Seems like 'normal' behaviour, especially as those driving cars attitude to driving.
-
• #60219
Yes, it can be done both ways, if electronic.
-
• #60220
Yeah it's a bit reactive, i think next time i'll try it with normal stabilization just to see what it's like
-
• #60221
True.
-
• #60222
Mileage blockers are terrible things. A mate bought an FJCW that was apparently on 16k but one of the internal odometers read 67k. That's a big difference.
-
• #60223
Fuck me. That’s ridiculous. Absolute cunts.
-
• #60224
So as long as the internal odometers can be checked, does it matter?
41k, do you think that the car has been serviced correctly? Was it showing mileage wear?
-
• #60225
Depends if the car has internal odometers, and how easy they are to read.
Can’t say I’m enthusiastic about having to be concerned about these things tbh.
