  • Awesome news Richie. You'll be doing next season in it all being well?

  • Least boring answer gets the most consideration.

Doubt anyone else will suggest one of these:

  • That's what I thought, he'd gone over 1000bhp...

  • That’s the plan. I honestly didn’t think the front end would have gone back together as smoothly as it did, and also had another engine pull in the program to fix the leak and the clutch/gearbox.

If I have fixed the leak and the clutch issue is solved with a bleed (big if), then I am months ahead of plan.

It may mean that funding is the main issue and some hifi will need to go.

Donington in June may just happen!

  • Ok, that’s actually pretty cool.

  • Ha. Top spot. Knew it had feels.

Nothing like a bike chain around the ankles.

  • That's just a shitty commodore right?

  • the problem i have with the dogcam is putiing it in and out of the clamp fucks the alignment. i am sure there is a better way...

also - you need one of these big fuck off racing mirrors - they are amazing.

  • ha. my father in law had two and fucking loved them. he still bangs on about how shit his new 3 series is compared to the omega

  • Yes my Dad did too. The Omega and the Citroen XM were his two favourites.

  • his car before the omegas was a n xm, too!

  • My factory rear view mirror fell off various times on saturday, i ended up just removing it completely. I don't really need it.

I should really replace it for the road sections but the cage in my car, the top screen bar is quite a long way from the rear view mirror so i can't really fit one of those cage mounted ones

  • Late to this party but the classic has Land Rover wheels instead of the proper Rostyle types, and the front bumper is not from a Range Rover. So what else have they messed up?

3.9s are more reliable than 4.6s from what I have heard, but the Japanese one looks excellent. The classic will not depreciate, however.

  • Turns out I can't re-use the roof bars I had on the Panda with the C-Max. I thought I could just get different fixings to swap from rails to fixed points. Nope.

Anyone want/need some aero roof bars to fit to rails?

The rubber strips to fill the gaps has been cut to allow me to fit T-nuts, but it's all present and correct.

    £50?

  • I can understand the XM. But the omegadore is such a different, average car. Interesting! Mind you, I never minded borrowing my mates VT wagon with a 5.7 litre V8 in it. Was actually great fun when it worked.

  • Bonus points for the filmmaker for using the music from the Hawaii level of Road Rash 2 as the soundtrack.

Serious knowledge Ricky! I was wondering wtf the music was about, makes sense now.

  • Impressive list of exclusions:

  • Christ that's not much. What's it from?

  • Covers the first three months of this

Looks like it's a major-systems only policy, really, so if the engine explodes, or you need new turbo-chargers you'd be ok. Which is not nothing, of course.

  • @mcmyk Just watched the ignis in-car - looks mad fun. The HyperSmoothing does put the footage sorta out of step with all the wheel twirling though!

  • I had a barber mate with a petrol head regular customer. He always had at least 2 cars on the go and constantly changed them. At the time (early '00s) his previous Omega was one of the few cars he regretted selling.

Heard other people wax lyrical about them for some reason. Which was part of my reason for suggesting it. Plus its not expensive and unlikely to devalue a meaningful amount.

  • Oh, I forgot to mention this - when I was getting the C55 serviced the service manager mentioned that the owner of the local fish and chip shop had an M6, on a lease, and that the "first thing he did was fit a mileage blocker, got it on the lowest mileage lease he could so it was cheap and will make sure the car only registers what the lease says he can do per year", which adds a new and terrifying dimension to car buying.

  • Christ. I guess you want to be careful about who you buy it off/have a look at the MOT mileages. Impossible to know really. Fuck.
