Am I allowed to branch off my live feed like this? It’s wired in single core cables in conduit. I want to run a permanent live around the installation for my emergency lights, then branch off it as the actual feed for the lights themselves, which will be switched.
I assume I can, or will I need to run entirely separate cables?
It looks functional, but it's not the traditional way of wiring lighting. Depending on the physical layout, you can end up with out of balance current going through a hole in a piece of metal.
