  • Those two videos put a massive smile on my face, love it.

  • Is that Mk1 Golf hiding in the garage?

  • Inexpensive to buy or run? A tatty E61 will be cheap but may come with a surprise £1k bill at any moment.

  • Might be the coolest thing I seen on this thread. (The soundscore at least)

    Is that a celica?

  • E63-S is sold, and I'm fairly sure it was only listed today - I only saw it today anyway.

3 series is too small for winter beater estate I think.

  • Nope

    Not even second place...

Edit: Not with 550bhp. Maybe with 585bhp. Until I get the RS6 fitted with hybrid turbos and get it remapped.

  • It's not particularly exciting but I like my Volvo V70. It's just a box on wheels so fits bikes in really easily. Mine's 10 years old and has nearly 150k miles but still runs smoothly.
Why worry too much about a stop gap car, beyond how much value it's likely to lose between selling one exciting car and buying another as long as you can chuck a bike in the back?

  • A fine argument, but he's already sold the C55...

  • This is what I was thinking. Gotta be plenty of half decent V70/V70 cross country variants as a stop gap. I guess there is a huge chance of something going very wrong mechanically on any car you buy at around that budget.

  • I'm driving the white ignis sport at 45secs in in the drone vid. Other cars include (i think) a datsun 1200 and a corolla AE86

  • Mazeballs

  • excellent!

what is going on with thew camera - is it moving?

  • i am a clutch bleed away from a driveable car!

not as low as i thought it would be, but the 60 profile tyres don't help. the big balloon dunlop will fill the guards out.

  • Do these ones not shit a gearbox over 700 then?

  • This is very exciting news!!

  • The C6 RS6? Apparently not. Over 900bhp and you need to uprate the driveshafts, apparently. Box is good for 1000+ if it's in good condition.

  • Have I got the wrong end of the stick? I thought Dammit was asking what car to buy as something to get around in between selling his current/old Mercedes and deciding on and picking up a new one.

  • The GoPro hero7 onward cameras have a version of image stabilisation in some resolutions called HyperSmooth.

I was tempted to change the resolution/frame rate so i could get normal stabilisation without the hypersmooth but i think it looks pretty good on that video

  • Cheers. It does look cool. I have a dog camera in the b at the moment! I should look at a GoPro

  • i think it looks pretty good on that video

    Looks great, super bloody stable!

  • We used to run Dogcam in our escort connected to some sort of small digital recorder under one of the seats, that worked pretty good. Gopro has a lot more user friendly features though and gives you a lot of adjustability on the fly

  • That looks awesome mate. Fun times I bet.

  • 766KW is Mahoosive. Monster power.

I could change the cam and get into 700s (hp) but it would need a girdle really at that point. And would be really, really unpleasant to drive.

Honestly 600 is already 200 too many.

  • You're right, ignore me. It's been a long day...

  • That looks like great fun. Bonus points for the filmmaker for using the music from the Hawaii level of Road Rash 2 as the soundtrack.
