It's not particularly exciting but I like my Volvo V70. It's just a box on wheels so fits bikes in really easily. Mine's 10 years old and has nearly 150k miles but still runs smoothly.
Why worry too much about a stop gap car, beyond how much value it's likely to lose between selling one exciting car and buying another as long as you can chuck a bike in the back? -
