It has had and still has its problems but it and St Leonards combined are great overall. Much nicer countryside around it too than Southend and far more interesting housing stock, pub/music/art/hills an Old Town, miles of empty beaches all the way to Eastbourne and to Rye the other way. And of course a little bit more historic than S'End. I sat on the beach at Southend in the summer once and had to wear a three sided box on my head to make the view in anyway acceptable.
