My Samsung telly has a usb in the back which allows recording of telly. It’s got a hdd in there right now. I think it’s a common feature.

Can you series record onto that?
Also how many things can you record at once whilst also watching something?

I want to be able to record TV to watch later. What's the best option? Buy a recorder box, buy a TV that allows recording onto some external media or something else? I don't want to give BT, Sky or Jeff Bezos any of my money in the process.
