Naturally, there will a price to pay - for example, we would have to give up sterling and submit to the euro - if we're very lucky at parity.

Well, mentioning the Euro seems to have stirred up a much livelier debate than I expected. I'd just like to make it clear that I'm not particularly in favour of being in the Euro, I just think this would be one result of the folly of Brexit.
