• The bottom of this page is a list of exemptions to rules on "gatherings" which would appear to be a broad term for all the rules stopping you seeing people in certain settings.

The list of exemptions doesn't include allowing people who have travelled into the country to self isolate with you.

However the self isolation travel advice page , while saying you can self isolate with family members, also then says:

There may be other restrictions on indoor and outdoor gatherings with people from outside your household under the national rules that apply
from 5 November. You should ensure you are complying with those rules
    as well.

So its clear as mud really. As others have said, if you're looking to bend that many rules, the answer is probably that you would all be better off giving a miss this year.

Also, do you really want another family, including children, trapped in your house for 14 days while you can't even pop out to the pub?

  • Thanks, I'm baffled by their reaction really and have go to the point that I've voiced my concern and will now let them get on with it.
