I've just had a similar experience with them except the photo they took is very obviously not of the right building and they even listed the address of where they did deliver it to, a place over 1.5 miles away. We went over to see if they had it and apparently the courier took it back so now no one knows where it is
DHL have taken a photo of my front door, but didn't knock, so I didn't answer it, so they say that they "left parcel in a safe place", but we don't know where that is. It's not outside my flat.
Their contact centre said that if they've lost it I have to contact YT for a refund - I asked why YT would refund it if DHL lost it and they couldn't answer.
DHL are (currently, it's a dynamic situation) the very worst courier company operating here.
