Regular backups as a habit regardless.
Your problem could be screen ribbon cable or more serious GPU b0rk. Try to get a vid, compare to others online, send it to Apple.

is it just a very brief flicker?
i had this issue and a PRAM or SMC reset (can't remember which) managed to fix it (on the advice of apple -- as it was on apple care)

Ive got a 2017 "15 MacBook pro, i've started noticing the odd like flash or like flashing line in the screen.
I know this is soemthing that shouldn't happen but is there anything i should be looking for or should i get a back up done pronto.
