It sounds like the ‘controllable’ trainer may be paired to another device. I had this when I switched between an iPad and iPhone. The trainer was waiting for data from one but I was using the other. Switch off the trainer and make sure the apps are closed to clear.
On other occasions I’ve also thought I was in ERG mode but was in incline mode for workouts. I always have the companion app running now to check the mode. -
I've had a few issues similar to this (Tacx Flux). ERG mode didn't work reliably. I went through Tacx (Garmin) customer service, Zwift Customer service, bought a CABLE to try and improve the connection... No conclusive answers, but Bluetooth stability seems to be the key. I had most problems when I connected my phone to a wireless speaker or headphones in the same room. Seems to be mostly stable now with wired audio.
Has anyone experienced spinning out on Zwift? On every workout I've done on it in the last week or so I'm really struggling to do the interval as I'm spinning out when trying to do the lower watt ones. It's like the resistance is not working on my turbo (kickr). This is all in ERG mode and I'm finding I'm having to put in the hardest gear on most of the intervals and I don't think there should be any need to shift when in ERG?
Should say looks like I've got the latest version of zwift, kickr etc. Should also mention that I had a couple of dropouts recently with the Kickr not pairing as the controllable on my Mac so started using the Zwift companion app to pair trainer and power meter over my phones Bluetooth and it doesn't look like the connection was lost when using it last night.
Keen to hear if anyone has had anything similar.
