I sat next to Nigella at a book launch last year. Not one of her books. She looked very young and I didn’t say anything to her in case it wasn’t her and I made a tit of myself. Anyway it was her because she was in front of me in the signing queue and introduced herself as Nigella

I sat next to Nigella at a book launch last year. Not one of her books. She looked very young and I didn’t say anything to her in case it wasn’t her and I made a tit of myself. Anyway it was her because she was in front of me in the signing queue and introduced herself as Nigella. The (American) author doing the signing didn’t know who she was. I had to tell him she was royalty (after she had gone).
I wish this were a better story, in many ways, but there it is.
