Don’t let that put you off them.
I have two (that I converted myself). One has seen dogs abuse, ridden hard and put away dirty through several winters. I’ve replaced the balls once (at a fraction of the cost of replacing cartridge bearings) and I’m pretty lax with service intervals too.

I’m getting some wheels built up for my crosscheck. Going to be fixed.
For the rear hub I liked the look of Velosolos Converged disc hubs to run a bolt on fixed cog, but it was pointed out to me these are loose bearings.
Surly look decent?
Also had a respaced Zenith as a suggestion.
Phil Wood do a 130mm which is tempting.
What would you buy?
This is going to be a bombproof fixed gear off roader/ tourer
