Above fire place always looks like the whole room is designed around the TV which I personally don’t like.

Not a bad shout, but where to put it?
-
• #39079
Ours is a meter. Will try to picture. Also, maybe it is ugly and no one dared telling us!
-
• #39080
Me too. I’m also worried about the neck strain if the Tv is placed that high.

Accidental damage cover for 5 years with a serif tv is only £80.
That seems pretty good value considering the design.

or we can have a larger TV (probs a 49") above the fireplace.
-

Our room is pretty much exactly the same... corner by the bay window, using the cabinet behind it to hide all wires and house all other entertainment gubbins.

Lol

• #39085
I thought it would look nice!

• #39086
And you have a serif?
-
• #39087
Alternatively you could go for a projector, coming down in front of the double doors, I would do the same but there are only so many things I can cope with teaching my wife to use which she just ignores.
If I had a quid every time she's claimed the TV has broken only for me to find the wrong input has been selected and the Apple TV is off I'd prob have a good handful of quids.

Yeah... 2017 model which is a bit crappy, but the new ones look better (faster processors and better screens).

I've got a serif (2020 version) - picture quality is class and have gushed about its (very snappy/best-in-class imo) UI on here before. please don't put the telly above the fireplace

• #39090
Do you have pics? Same with @chrisbmx116
I guess then it could stand in front of the bookshelves
-
• #39091
I have one too and the majority of people don't realise it's a TV until I turn it on (except when the room is totally dark). Really rate it!

those prices are fake... the 43 inch is 599 usually (I think).
Still a decent price though. -
• #39095
I bought the 55inch serif yesterday from Curry's bc it had extra £50 off + cashback

• #39096
Why are you living an upgraded version of my life?
-
• #39097
How can you live with that cabling you animal! For a telly designed to stand on its own, I always wondered why there isn't some junction box you can hide, that connects to a port in the bottom of one of the legs. All the publicity shots never show the cables! It's such a con!

• #39099
how good is the sound of serifs? always wondered about where to hide/place the soundbar

Calm down.
All the cables are now concealed within this... https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/rabalder-cable-tidy-white-20281419/
Was also tempted by a B&O but prices were just too punchy.Edit: With the new ones you'd only need the power cable as Apple TV app is built in.
I suggested that exact thing but it was rejected by the wife as being too ugly.
Also our alcoves are 90cm wide.
