• I do wonder if its possible for a dog to be oversocialised as a puppy. Otto has spent 15 to 20 hours every week playing with dogs he is familiar with from the age of 16 weeks. Nearly four years now. Maybe he just doesn't understand that not all dogs want to ruff and tumble or that some dogs don't "speak dog " very well.

    I'd think so. Hugo my mum and dads newfoundland still thinks every single dog is friendly and wants to play with him.
    Unfortunately not all dogs think a 70kg+bear is friendly...

    Otto makes the assumption that every dog wants to play with him and he bounds in but if the other dog signals he doesn't want to play then Otto just walks off and pays no attention. The problems starts when the other dog doesn't know how how to tell another Otto that they don't want to play and run away....sometimes squealing. Which is basically the opposite of dog language for not wanting to play, from what I have read.
