agree that's it's not the most exciting, but it's ok for mid week sipping at the price

That's £22 that you could put towards something more interesting.

fair. the bottle I have was a gift from the in-laws.

Wild turkey 101 is £23 atm with a clubcard in Tesco. Decent bourbon at a higher strength and very much worth it at that price

Opened this à few months ago and forgot about it, trying it again it's very strongly influenced by the bourbon casks used. So much so that it feels much more like drinking an American whiskey than a scotch. Quite a long spicy finish, interesting one to try if you're a bourbon fan.

Fancied a slight change of direction after that.

Not that it's likely available around here, but thanks for the warning.

Not sure if that’s natural colour but it’s bloody dark for ex-bourbon at 43%!

I think the sleep deprivation is getting to me (baby's teething and I'm not getting great nights at the moment) , I meant American oak cask, and that it tastes more like a bourbon/American whiskey.
Not sure if it's natural colour (I doubt it) and it's definitely chill filtered.

One of my wife's rich clients had her try one of these. I am not at all jealous obviously.

Another comically over priced 'Japanese' whisky.

I'll expect the peat heads to recommend more esoteric stuff, but the 12 from these guys
https://www.masterofmalt.com/distilleries/caol-ila-whisky-distillery/is good.

Would also recommend Caol Ila, not tried this but sounds interesting
I think I saw that the Compass Box folks have a new Peat Monster out.

This years Longrow 18 looks like it’s still in stock in a few places but a bit over budget (£89 at Reallygoodwhiskey). Haven’t had a chance to try it yet but everything I’ve tried so far from Springbank is great. Springbank itself is a little lighter on the peat but really interesting. The 15 is probably in budget & if not the 10 or 12 cask strength are both very good

I also like anybooze.com, they're a small family business so it feels better to give them money.

Drop store are pretty swift.
Fairly generic selection, but some ok deals / bundles every so often.
a pal of mine got a bottle of this yesterday. unfortunately I can't pop round to try it, but he gave it a good review.
