Mine's a Shimano hub, which means just using the connector block with stripped wire ends; if you go for a SON, you'll need to use spades or solder in the coax adapter (barring exotica like the SL hub). The Edelux comes with spades already attached. I went for the Edelux over other lights because it's pretty and I love the shiny, but I've been really impressed by the performance; at my normal audaxy speeds (25-30km/h) I've been happy to ride on crappy lanes and semi-surfaced park paths in the dark.
Thanks for the info. It'll be a while before I need a new wheelset, so weighing up future options, current thinking is Son hub, and that's about as far as the thinking went. Merits further investigation.
