Tell them I'm not a big talker when they start the small talk, if they take the hint they get rewarded and then I seek out said barber next time to reinforce the practice until we both appreciate this unspoken barbershop communion
If it doesn't work, I never return to said barber and walk the long way around to avoid ever having to make eye contact with them again as I pass
