Prefer the 143 but still maintain that part of the allure of Seiko divers are how cheap they are (generally). They’ve clearly caught on to their enthusiast following and are releasing constant special editions that are quite expensive.

Are either of those really a grand better than an SKX?

Better still, get an SKX and upgrade the movement to a 6R15, pop a fancy bezel on and a domed AR sapphire and that’s still less than half the price.

143 for me -slightly prefer the indices, hands and straighter lines of the case (although prefer the bezel on the 187). They are both great though - you can’t go wrong with either.
