• Is buying a car from ebay with out seeing it a stupid idea. I think so but I'm not sure what value me walking round it and kicking the tyres would generate. If its not an awful idea, does anyone have a rough idea how much it cost to have a car delivered per mile or whatever metric is used?

  • It seems like a gamble to me and I think prices reflect that (certainly at the lower end of the market).
That being said, plenty of cars seem to be listed and sold multiple times using the same photos so I think rejecting a car after winning it isn’t unusual... Not sure if you take the hit or if it’s an official process though.

  • Personally I go a lot on the description. If the seller has taken the time to do a proper description, list of service intervals and most importantly a list of faults with the car, then I'm much more inclined to trust them. If it's a 1-liner with crappy phone pics then run away.

I think that would make you an influencer

Buying a car without smelling it is a stupid idea.
