Not sure if you're gonna get 2.3's in it though. But I wonder if you'd get them in any nineties frame. We rode tyres between 1.9 and 2.1 mostly.

Cheers, yeah my kona is 1991 and will take 2.1 but no more so that make sense tbf. But my rockhopper takes 2.3's with room to spare. I guess that must be a rare exception then. Feels bad to be saying keep saying no but will leave the scott frame, thanks mate.

I've got a trek 990 fromn92 and it can take 2.25s.
In fact theres a trek 990 for sale somewhere on the forum

No problem. Hope you find something nice. Don't forget to start a build thread once you've found something. 😊

Thanks for link, I hadn't seen it, but too small for me. What size is yours? Is 2.25s maxed out or space to squeeze mudguards in?

@txkxo ah pity they're nice frames.
Hmm not sure of exact size of my frame but ill measure if it helps.
I'll measure the tyre/frame spaces too.
Here are some snaps.

@txkxo Tyres come up 53mm on internal 21mm rims.
Gap at the fork at widest point in the tyre is 15mm, chainstays and seatstays about 12mm.
I have mudguards with a tyre gap of about 10mm and the FD touches the mudguard so this might be a consideration if you go much larger.
Good luck -

Been googling e-stay frames and a Nishiki would be the dreamm.. !

After a frame for a new project. Mate of mine is making a cargo fork for me, which I was going to put on my kona lava dome, but after deciding cargo forks on bikes with sloped top tubes look weird I'm after a different frame. Criteria is horizontal-ish top, 1 1/8th steerer and decent rear tyre clearance (wanna fit 2.3s in there) extra points for kool paint job. 90s rockhopper/stumpjumper, trek 990/970/950 would be perfect for example but open to options.. would love an e-stay, think they look rad, especially nishiki. Based in Bristol for collection ideally but will pay postage if got something nice for a good deal :) frame size 20 inch
