Coming around nicely! What tubing and clearance are you going for?
-
• #4129
Thanks. It is Columbus Zona all of it. Makes sense for long distance durable off road adventure type bike.
It clears 700x38c with guards and 2x chainset (50/34) -

Sorry to hijack the thread but I saw mention of making some GPS mounts/cages etc out of 100% recycled materials and thought this was a really cool idea. I was trying to get a quote from a UK-based printer on some Garmin mounts in this vein, if that would be of interest to a few of us I'd create a thread to gauge how many would want one?
Love the latest build BTW @Hulsroy - those colours are rad

Also sorry to hijack but this is a cool idea and I'd be keen

Basically, I'm a genius

You lack business smarts though, most geniuses don't squander their IP by posting about it on a public forum. Or so I've heard.
I also want one.

I've plenty ideas that I might actually be able to implement that I'm not sharing. Being able to produce hard goods from recycled materials is not in the realms of possibility for me currently

I was trying to make a joke love, I believe in you.

Yeah I did realise that. My answer did come across maybe too serious :)

Maybe I need to change the thread title

Looks like I am getting a 35mm bend seat tube from bike fab supply. I was allowed to piggyback on an order so saving a bit on postage.
Will probably look something like this:

Yeah pretty excited for that build.
Also got around to cut some dropouts.
I already have the sliders from paragon but needed the dropouts out of steel (to be able to do fish mouth brazed seat and chainstays) but the face out of stainless to be able to remove the paint there. Luckily I got acces to some wicked machines. So cut it out of plate and will solder the faces onto the dropouts.

I really should have paid more attention in metalwork class at school!
One of the CP threads I look forward to seeing updates in. -

It is a problem tho when you start basing your carreer path on avaible equipment for framebuilding :-)

So my seat tube is already in the UK and coming my way soon.
I've been getting quite a lot of TIG practice at work lately so feeling pretty confident about welding up some bikes.
Next project is flat mount road bike for SRAM Red wireless in Spirit tubing. A bit nervous about expensive tubes but should be a quick build if I get it right. Then onto my MTB
