Hah, just checked after I wrote that - there’s also the Leon Xperience, which is a shit name but I’m really impressed with our normal Leon ST.

On the subject of PEUGEOT hot hatches, I believe the current 308 GTI is a bit of dark horse. Significantly lighter than the rest.

It does sound like a mittel European motivational video

Beemer E30...if you can afford one.
Just seen KMiata (now called KPower) have released a K24 E30 package. This makes things very interesting.

We actually had an Octavia Scout a few years ago but they aren't big enough for us any more.
I would consider a Superb Scout but they are too new and too many $ for us at the moment.

Having only had experience with Honda's B18 engine, I'm keen to try something K20 powered. It seems to be the engine to slot into pretty much anything at the minute. Add a Turbo or supercharger and it opens it up further.

One of my pals now supplies kits from Kmiata, to run a K20 or K24 to MX5 (and E30s i think). He recons he can build a 350bhp N/A motor

Interesting. Since seeing this I like the idea of a NB or NC MX with a k20

These guys also did a review of a NB with a built engine on ITBs but to be honest, it seems like that was way more work than just sourcing a honda unit and throwing it in. -

Yeah apparently what they supply is from a US company called Kpower industries

First C-Max problem already, lighter/12v sockets didn't work. Thankfully (I think) a C-Max owners' forum exists, 1x 20A fuse later and both work fine. Next job will be fitting the new DAB+/BT stereo I ordered (did this on the Panda so have half an idea of what's involved to get the dab aerial wired and mounted) and then tending to the centre console cupholder/cubby which appears to have been pushed in. Haynes manual is on the way.

Give me a shout if you need any help, I have free time and a willingness to help.

I don't really have enough info or experience with "retro" BMWs to know, but I think unless it's an M5, the amount of enjoyment you're going to get from a decent engine in an E28 will outweigh the potential loss in value. I don't think they're worth that much at the moment.

Dyno Torque just finished a 2.5 Duratec swap on ITBs into an NC, I assume there will be a DW video coming up on it soon as it was their track car to replace the R53 Cooper S.

Noted, and thanks! You're a bit far away though but if I get stuck/you're willing to travel/guidelines allow I'll give you a shout.
Fitting the stereo should be a bit less rage inducing than last time. Much more room to maneuver in the cabin and when I fit the one in the Panda, it was one of the hottest days of the year and the car was facing the sun. Double din slot too so I should be able to hoke about more easily to fish the cable through. It should already have a mic wired up so again, half the effort.
The console can wait until I get the manual and have a good flick through that.

So its time to say goodbye to my V60, as lovely as a car its been (zero problems in 4 years) I need something a little smaller and easier to park.
So I'm looking at the Mini Cooper S - something with not too high mileage that looks decent. I'll be using the car just for mainly city driving (when not cycling) this has come up on my eBay searches, its older than I planned but apart from that I see no reason to not take a look, what do you guys think?
Initially not thinking of doing much in the way of work but I would like to have some done in time.

I have had 3 Coopers (not S) and personally I always prefer them with a sunroof as it makes the inside lighter and more spacious in a small car. Also the chrome mirrors are nasty (but easy enough to change).

Having said that this looks nice for a grand more
